# visualize or Claude Design?

> Choose between a portable open-source skill inside your agent and Anthropic's hosted collaborative design product.

## The difference

Anthropic introduced Claude Design as a hosted research-preview product for creating and collaborating on designs, prototypes, slides, and one-pagers. Its announcement describes private, organization-link, and edit-sharing options plus group conversation. [Anthropic's announcement](https://www.anthropic.com/news/claude-design-anthropic-labs) is the source for those claims.

visualize is a free, open-source Agent Skill. It works with several skill-capable agents, reads project context, and writes portable HTML to your filesystem. It has no visualize account or hosted canvas.

- you want the working method and brand context committed with the project;
- your document starts from repository or long-running agent context;
- portable, inspectable HTML is the desired output; or
